Known for its affordable make up, MUA (MakeUp Academy) Lipsticks cost just £1!
There are currently 16 colours to choose from.
I'm used to buying lipsticks for £14 or more, so my immediate thought was that for £1, I really couldn't expect too much. However, I was surprised by the pigmented colour, great for achieving the latest look on a budget.
From the collection, I choose 2 quite neutral shades.
Shade 9 (left) and Shade 10 (right).
Shade 9 is a sheer light brown, with a hint of purple.
Shade 10 is an orange red with more pigment.

Reasons to try and buy:
- The packaging shows the colour on the base and for the ones that I brought, it is a true likeness.
- They contain Castor Oil and Beeswax to moisturise the lips.
- The texture is creamy but very light. I didn't find them drying at all.
- They have a comforting vanilla fragrance.
- They contain mica particles for shine and subtle shimmer.
Things to consider whilst trying, but before buying:
- The texture is very light, therefore it is easy to slip of the lips, you will need to reapply quite often.
- Although they have a lot of pigment, because of the light texture, it is hard to get an even application - I found this with Shade 10.
- The mica can feel a little bitty on the lips.
It really depends on what you want from a lipstick. I personally prefer more last and a richer texture, but you can't go wrong for £1. If you are looking for a sheer, pigmented colour with a light texture, you should give MUA lipsticks a try.
